              The province of Zamboanga del Norte is engaged in the fast-rising industry called the Spanish Sardines Industry. In fact, there are aorund 20 bottled sardines producers whose markets already include USA, Italy and other European countries. Volume of production and sales is still growing up to present which means that market for bottled sardines is unlimited, which is also evident of sprouting up newly-established sardines-making companies.

             Having government agencies such as BFAR, DTI, DOST, DA, BFAD who offer never-ending support and assistance to every need of the industry makes Zamboanga del Norte a very lucky province. No wonder the province is branded as the Spanish Sardines Capital of the Philippines.

                      " Years ago, it was just a dream, but now it is a reality."

            In July 2008, Mrs. Rosa R. Lim has also joined the industry. Besides seeing the potential in both domestic and international market, the owner sees the employment opportunity it would generate for the province, the opportunity to help uplift the economic status of the marginal fishermen (by ensuring a ready market for their catch), taking into consideration the abundance of resources in the nearby coastal areas.
